Beatrice and Nathan sailed the sea bound for Portland, Maine coming home again Captain Nick stood on the prow The glowing from his pipe assured them in the night when the wind started to howl Nathan was a book dealer by trade specializing in Thoreau and Tennyson Beatrice wrote all the time epics mighty long of women brave and strong Captain Nick thought of new work High up in the nest I see many things porpoises and whales other vessels' sails With cutlass drawn I'm almost scraping the sky Harvesting the stars I put them into jars

Wiser to live discreet lay low and cast no shadow Until your roots grow deep hold to the straight and narrow Seven times I've asked you now absolve your shame and worry for what they've given you condemned without a jury A northern star will guide and a distant light will beckon While you are on this ride the Holy Spirit comfort you until you find your way until you find your way Night train to Amsterdam a layover at the station The brilliant colors bleed into a stained glass window Forlorn the promises Forlorn your shoulders shaking Lost trinket in the sand on a foreign shore A northern star will guide and a distant light will beckon While you are on this ride the Holy Spirit comfort you until you find your way until you find your way So dream beneath the family tree strong branches, leaves a'falling Some sailed across the sea back when the world was purer Some fled from poverty Some fled from persecution unto a Promised Land that you have now abandoned A northern star will guide and a distant light will beckon While you are on this ride the Holy Spirit comfort you until you find your way until you find your way

I understand a shift in plans a breaching from tradition You should know, though I go we are one in mission Ash to ash, memento mori and to God be all the glory Leave behind the stained glass window pane of Peter rescued from the sea Seek the lost at any cost and as you take attendance I'll replay the old refrains in a sweet remembrance Ash to ash, memento mori and to God be all the glory Leave behind the tattered hymnals and we'll sing verses one through three You'll hear the songs arriving on lamented winds of progress The weather changes we the same though not without some sadness Ash to ash, memento mori and to God be all the glory Leave behind the stained glass window pane pulled from the Sea of Galilee pulled from the Sea of Galilee pulled from the Sea of Galilee pulled from the Sea of Galilee

Exit 12 to Moscow south of Coeur d'Alene Highway 95 in gentle rain Sipping from a thermos simmering my mind Following the road Interpreting the signs Exit 12 to Moscow the forests disappear the prairies open up the mountains flatten out Exit 12 to Moscow I drive the stretch alone It's just another place I cannot call my home Exit 12 to Moscow there's not a lot to do I'm tired of cafes and I'm not a man for booze One day I'd like to marry and realign my life If it's hard to find a friend how can I find a wife? Exit 12 to Moscow the forests disappear the prairies open up the mountains flatten out Exit 12 to Moscow I drive the stretch alone It's just another place I cannot call my home The morning air is hazy The farmers burn the fields The pilots spray the crops to increase the yields Bound to feed the nation every hungry soul Bound to feed this man who's wandering alone Exit 12 to Moscow the forests disappear the prairies open up the mountains flatten out Exit 12 to Moscow I drive the stretch alone It's just another place I cannot call my home Every generation is strengthening the ties The roots are growing deep and pushing me aside It's no place for a stranger without a family but no matter where I live I always want to leave Exit 12 to Moscow the forests disappear the prairies open up the mountains flatten out Exit 12 to Moscow I drive the stretch alone It's just another place I cannot call my home

Time of trials No need to walk so many miles All the while minding the dark I gave up trying on love that I'd denied was dying No more lying I'm minding my heart Years flow, forefathers lie below forgotten, though their souls are free Phantom feeling Felt a pulse when nothing's beating You all-seeing up in the sky Constellations satellites and warring nations I man my station with tears in my eyes Years flow, forefathers lie below forgotten, though their souls are free The joy and toil shuffle off this mortal coil Tilling soil, planting a tree Meteor shower backdrop of a radio tower A precious flower lost to the sea Years flow, forefathers lie below forgotten, though their souls are free

Brothers lost along the way trading time for silver What was I about to say beside this shining river beside this shining river? Tell me, is there something wrong? I will try to listen I'll walk with you all along in blessed restoration blessed restoration Water vital, current flow Man adrift and wounded When it's time for me to go lead me home lead me home Swollen river running high She's weeping on my shoulder There, my darling, don't you cry I will see us over I will see us over If I'm rich or if I'm poor Wealth or desolation My soul, you must ever soar high above my station high above my station

Blue Whale 02:58
I am a blue whale swimming in the trans Atlantic Drawing a deep breath when I surface and I cannot help but feel nervous with my flukes in the air And though my family is smaller, I still have my daughter Alas, I lost my only son in the Sea of Japan when he was overrun Chasing after krill until he had his fill I could hear his cry from a hundred miles away Though I swam as fast as I could I was far too late And now he swims among the heavens in that deepest ocean As I explore the Mariana and I dive down deep til I can weep no more I saw a ship go down and bodies strewn about I tried to save as many as I could and nudge them towards the floating bits of wood of wood And now it's time to say goodbye I shall not heed the sonar At 60 degrees south latitude there's no need to have a bad attitude I am a blue whale swimming in the trans Atlantic

I won't leave you if you don't want me to We'll sigh into the whorl of the wind sharing the umbrella as the rain begins Filling in the puzzle pieces one by one Started with the edges, and ain't it fun? Everything calms down when you're around I won't leave you if you are feeling blue Singing from a corner of the house showing me a little more what you're about Filling in the puzzle pieces one by one Autumn in the apple orchard, ain't it fun? Everything calms down when you're around Is fire glow the only glow you know? Tell me, honey, am I getting warm? I could be a sanctuary in the storm Filling in the puzzle pieces one by one Started with the edges, and ain't it fun? Everything calms down when you're around
